About me

I am Professor of Counselling Psychology at the University of Manchester, a Fellow of the British Psychological Society, and a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy. I also hold a visiting professorship at York St John University.

I am registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) as a Counselling Psychologist, a Chartered Psychologist, and listed on the Register of Applied Psychology Practice Supervisors (RAPPS).

My independent practice is intentionally small, allowing for thoughtful, engaged work. My approach is grounded in humanistic values and shaped by ongoing reflection, research, and dialogue.

I have a particular interest in how people make sense of their experiences – especially during periods of transition, within high-pressure environments, or in relation to the growing role of technology in everyday life. I see psychological work as something that is not fixed or one-size-fits-all, but developed collaboratively, with space for complexity rather than simple answers.

Working Together

If you are considering therapy, looking for supervision, or interested in consultancy, you are welcome to get in touch.

I offer an initial conversation to think together about what you are looking for and whether working together feels like a good fit. My practice is intentionally small, which means I am not always able to take on new work, but I am happy to hear from you.
