Thoughtful and collaborative therapy for adults seeking space to reflect, understand, and move forward.
I offer individual therapy for adults experiencing a range of emotional and psychological difficulties.
As a Counselling Psychologist, my work is grounded in humanistic values and an appreciation that there is rarely a single explanation or solution for the challenges people face. Therapy can provide a space to slow down, think carefully, and explore experience in a more deliberate way.
For some people, this may involve a relatively small number of focused sessions. For others, it may become a longer-term piece of work. The pace, focus, and direction of therapy are shaped collaboratively according to individual needs and circumstances.
My Approach
My approach is collaborative and reflective. I aim to create a space where immediate concerns can be attended to while also making room to notice patterns, meanings, relationships, and the wider contexts in which difficulties take shape.
Rather than viewing difficulties solely as problems to be solved, I am often interested in how experiences are understood, lived, and responded to. Therapy can provide an opportunity to explore these experiences together and develop ways of moving forward that feel meaningful and sustainable.
My work is informed by counselling psychology, humanistic psychology, and pluralistic ideas about therapy. At its heart is a commitment to curiosity, respect, and understanding.
Areas of Interest
While every person's experience is unique, I have particular interests in:
- Life transitions and change
- Professional and occupational stress
- Academic and higher education contexts
- Identity, meaning, and purpose
- Relationships and emotional wellbeing
- Living with uncertainty
- Technology and its impact on everyday life
Availability
My primary role is currently within higher education, where I combine research, teaching, leadership, and professional activities.
As a result, my availability for therapeutic work is limited. However, I remain interested in offering therapy where there is a good fit between a person's needs and my way of working.
If you are considering therapy and would like to explore whether working together may be helpful, you are welcome to get in touch.
Fees
Therapy sessions are 50 minutes in duration and are currently charged at £150 per session.
Next Steps
If you are thinking about therapy, you are welcome to make contact for an initial, informal exchange. This can be a way of getting a sense of whether working together might be useful and whether my approach feels like a good fit for what you are looking for.
